Mr Room Rental
How We Got Started and the Way Forward
Mr Room Rental began in the early 1990s when our founder, Jimmy Yap, rented out spare bedrooms in his Singapore apartment, welcoming others into a shared home environment.
Between the early 1990s and 2002, this hands-on experience shaped a people-first approach to room rental accommodation. After relocating to Christchurch in 2002, these early lessons formed the foundation for what later became Mr Room Rental (Rooms To Let: Accosy®, Workotel®) and Real Gold® Property.
